2004 -2005 Email Project
This year's email project is underway. We have already received 0ver 400 responses, and have already heard from authors and illustrators in 26 states as well as from : Spain, Australia, British Columbia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Canada and France.
In conjunction with the election this year, our class has decided to ask the illustrators and authors we are in touch with to nominate their favorite children's book. We are trying to read as many of these books as we are able. On Dr. Seuss' birthday we will hold our own special election from the group of nominated books, to elect our very favorite.

We received a very special treat from illustrator, Glenn Brucker, in British Columbia who asked us to share our favorite animal and favorite hobby with him. He created an illustration for each of us with this information and then combined the illustrations into a book called " Mrs. Mary Major's First Grade Class and The Big Show and Tell Disaster." We were thrilled to receive the books and the pictures as well as his step by step photographs showing how he created this book for us.
